“ ‘So the house of Israel shall know, understand, and realize beyond all question that I am the Lord their God from that day forward.’ ” Ezekial 39:22 AMP
God speaks through the prophet Ezekial and says this phrase many times through out the book after describing what He is about to do. It almost seems as if God is trying to prove to them that He is who He is, yet the Israelites had already seen His hand at work time and time again. So why repeat this reasoning so often?
It strikes me that God longs for us to know Him. That’s what it has been about from the beginning of creation. He desires us to recognize Him for who He truly is, cherish Him, be acquainted with Him, appreciate Him, understand Him (to the extent He’s revealed Himself), and realize beyond a shadow of a doubt that He is who He says He is and can and will do what He says He will do.
Whether you realize it or not, God is working in your life at this very moment. He has been working in your life from the very day you were conceived. But do you truly know this God who formed you in your mother’s womb, kept you in times of disappointment, held your hand through sorrow, sustained you through illness, and met your needs in financial distress? He has done all of this so that we might KNOW Him. Not know about Him, but know HIM. Spend time reflecting on who God is and praise Him for it.
