“‘Can I not, O house of Israel, deal with you as this potter does?’ declares the Lord. ‘Behold, like the clay in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel.'” Jeremiah 18:6
How quickly we forget that we are merely created beings- made from dust! God formed us and can do as He pleases with us. Why do we squirm at the thought of God being in control of our lives? I believe it is because we do not truly understand or know the character of God.
If we truly believed He was good and could do us no wrong, we would rejoice at the thought of our lives being shaped like clay in God’s hands. The fact He is sovereign over all should bring great relief and peace. Knowing He is omnipotent [all-powerful], omnipresent [present everywhere at the same time], and omniscient [all-knowing] should make our faith and trust in Him soar!
But so often we do not trust Him because we do not know Him. We do not know Him because we do not spend time with Him. Guard your alone time with Jesus- make it a priority. Get to know your Creator intimately and allow the above Scripture to be a great comfort to you.
