Pray that God would…
1. Help him turn from lust.
” ‘I have made a covenant with my eyes; how then could I gaze at a virgin?’ “
2. Help him take every thought captive.
“…taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ…”
(2 Corinthians 10:5b)
3. Give him a renewed mind.
“Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” (Romans 12:1-2)
4. Help him dwell on what pleases God.
“Finally brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things.” (Philippians 4:8)
5. Focus his eyes on things above.
“Set your mind on things above, not on the things that are on earth.”
6. Give him a clean heart and pure motives.
“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”
7. Convict him when and in what areas are needed.
” ‘And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin, and righteousness, and judgment.’ ” (John 16:8)
