“Bring forth fruit that is consistent with repentance [let your lives prove your change of heart]…” Matthew 3:8, AMP
When I’ve read this verse in other versions I kind of skipped over it because I didn’t understand what it meant. But the Amplified Version breaks it down for us. We are to prove through our daily actions that we have truly repented of our sins and turned to God. That includes ceasing to complain and wallow in self-pity when we’re faced with difficult circumstances. It can be easy to act like Jesus when things are going well in your life, but how do you act and think when you’re in the midst of a trial? Are you pleasing God with your response to your current struggle?
